International Exchange

The Institute of Polymer Technology has been networked with universities around the world for many years. This provides a lively professional exchange and in particular the exchange of students, visiting scholars and professors. An international exchange offers the opportunity to further develop on a personal level, to network internationally and also to expand the individual locations by offering additional teaching opportunities. The closest university co-operations are listed below:

University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA

College of Science and Engineering, Prof. Allen Jonathan Román

We enable students focusing on polymer engineering to write their theses at the University of Minnesota. Allen Jonathan Román welcomes students to his new lab, the “Polymer Research Institute for Smart Manufacturing and Materials” (PRISM). Topics focus in particular on extrusion-based additive manufacturing using a rotating nozzle and material characterization with a focus on rheology.

University of Burgundy, Dijon, Frankreich

École d’ingénieurs de l’Université de Bourgogne (Polytech Dijon)

Prof. Claire-Hélène Brachais

Every year, the Institute of Polymer Technology welcomes students from Dijon, enabling them to gain deeper insights into research through an internship of between 4 and 6 months.

East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), Shanghai, China

Prof. Dr. Wu Wei

As part of various collaborations, the Institute of Polymer Technology enables students from China to complete their theses each year. Furthermore, both doctoral students and professors use the cooperation to temporarily research abroad.
