Joining Technology and Tribology
The research field of joining technology and tribology of plastics focuses on the behavior and design of plastic joints as well as the friction and wear performance of polymer materials. The aim is to improve the functionality, durability, and reliability of plastic components under mechanical stress.
In joining technology, various bonding methods are investigated for their suitability with different plastics. Tribology explores how plastics behave under friction and mechanical load in order to minimize friction losses and reduce wear. Both areas make an important contribution to the advancement of modern plastic applications in engineering, mobility, and medical technology.
