The main areas of research at the Institute of Polymer Technology include additive manufacturing – jet melting, new materials and material properties, processing, joining technology and tribology as well as several cross-sectional topics. The research of the chair is significantly supported by national and international research institutions as well as various industrial companies.

  We conduct research into different variants of injection molding and compression molding, which can be used to manufacture a wide range of component geometries and functionalities. We also work in the fields of polymer-metal hybrids, rotational molding, and thermoforming.
